1. Will all my data be transferred?

Yes, we replicate all historical data except stock, deleted transactions, or attachments. We can also consolidate and restructure the data prior to migration.

2. How long does the migration take?

Every migration varies depending on the size and complexity of the accounts, but most migrations are completed within 1 to 5 working days. This timeline includes data preparation, migration, and reconciliation.

3. Can you assist with multi-currency setups?

Yes, we handle multi-currency migrations, ensuring that all transactions are transferred using the old system’s exchange rate.

4. How many years of data can be migrated?

We recommend migrating at least two years of data for comparative purposes, but we can transfer as many years as required, the most we have migrated is 20 years of data.

5. Can you transfer cost centres or departments?

Yes, we map cost centres and departments as Xero Tracking categories, enabling businesses to maintain detailed reporting capabilities within Xero.

6. What happens to accounting periods?

Xero does not use traditional accounting periods. Therefore, we work closely with clients to choose the best approach for migrating data, either based on transaction dates or posted periods, thereby ensuring financial continuity.

7. Is training available after migration?

Absolutely. We provide Xero training tailored to your business needs, ensuring that your team fully understands the system post-migration. Two hours of training are included with most migrations.

Data Extraction Process

The actual data extraction from Sage 200 is usually straightforward and typically takes between 30 minutes to 1 hour. However, it is important to note that this timeline can vary, especially if your business uses foreign currencies, as the presence of multi-currency transactions can, in turn, extend the process slightly due to the additional complexities involved in mapping this information into Xero.

Data included in the Migration

We transfer all historical data and this includes Sales invoice line description as per SOP
Cost centre and departments as Xero Tracking
Line level Tax rates and Tax amounts
Accurate matching of supplier and client payments to reflect the same allocations as in Sage200

Migration limitation

Audit Trail and Notes – Any notes, or detailed transaction comments from Sage200 are not migrated
Stock and Inventory – While basic financial information will be migrated, detailed stock and inventory levels are not transferred

Post migration checks

As part of the migration, we provide comprehensive reconciliation reports, offering full visibility into your data and peace of mind that the migration was accurate.
