How a 33-company Sage 200 programme became the foundation for a consistent Xero structure across a much wider care-home group, with full history, restructuring and ongoing acquisition support.

Care Concern Group is a large care-home group with more than 220 entities. Xero was already central to the wider group before this programme began, and the objective was to bring the remaining Sage 200 businesses into a consistent Xero environment.
The initial programme covered 33 companies and approximately 2.6 million transactions, including full historical data and foreign-currency activity.

Building a structure for the wider group.
The aim was not to reproduce 33 unrelated Sage 200 structures in Xero. The migration created a framework that could be followed as further businesses entered the group.
Chart of Accounts
We restructured and aligned the Chart of Accounts across the initial entities so the same group structure could be used for future acquisitions rather than rebuilding the accounting model each time.
Contact structure
Contacts were reviewed and reorganised around Care Concern's CRM and funding relationships, including council-funded and privately funded arrangements, rather than copied across unchanged.
Full history, not opening balances.
The migration included full historical transactions going back many years. Some entities also contained foreign-currency activity, so the source accounting context needed to be preserved rather than reduced to a single opening position.

From extraction through to reconciliation.
Migrate My Accounts handled the Sage 200 extraction and data processing. Each completed entity was supported by its own reconciliation evidence and explanations for material differences identified during the work.

Each company retained its own migration, validation and reconciliation trail rather than being treated as one enormous import.
The work continued beyond the original 33 companies.
Care Concern has continued to use Migrate My Accounts as acquired businesses and other entities need to be brought into the group's Xero environment from different accounting systems.
