Exchequer to Xero

Exchequer to Xero Migration Specialists

Historical Exchequer migration to Xero with data extraction, mapping, reconciliation and practical support through go-live.

What we migrate

Keep the accounting history your finance team still needs.

The exact scope is agreed from the source data, transaction volume and future Xero structure. These are the areas we commonly preserve.

Source-system expertise

We take care of the extraction and the accounting logic behind the move.

Exchequer projects often start with direct system access or an agreed report/export set. We handle the extraction requirements so the finance team is not left building migration files from scratch.

The source structure is reviewed before migration, including departments, cost centres, VAT, aged ledgers and any unusual account behaviour.

After import, we reconcile key reports and provide evidence of how the Xero position relates back to Exchequer.

What we deliberately check

  • Trial Balance and control accounts
  • Aged Receivables and Payables
  • VAT / tax position and mapping
  • Foreign currency where applicable
  • Analysis / tracking structure
  • Material source-data exceptions
Our process

From source system to reconciled Xero organisation.

The mechanics vary by source system, but the control points stay consistent.

01

Scope

History, entities, volumes, FX, tracking, attachments and timing.

02

Extract

Collect the source data using the appropriate reports or access route.

03

Map

Agree Chart of Accounts, contacts, tracking and restructuring.

04

Migrate

Load the agreed historical data into a controlled Xero organisation.

05

Reconcile

Compare the result to the source and document exceptions before handover.

Important differences

Not everything should be copied one-for-one.

  • System-specific modules and non-accounting operational data may need to remain outside Xero.
  • Where the source contains unusual control-account postings, an agreed Xero treatment may be required.
  • Reporting structures may need to be simplified to fit Xero Tracking.
Handover

Migration evidence, not just an import.

Depending on scope, the handover can include source-to-Xero Trial Balance comparison, aged-ledger checks, VAT review, migration workings, mapping schedules and documented exceptions.

Many projects also include training, first VAT return assistance and a period of post-go-live email support.

Data extraction

What we need from you to extract the data.

We use a preferred extraction route for each source system because it gives us the detail needed to rebuild and reconcile the history properly.

Preferred method
Visual Report Writer

We handle the technical extraction work wherever possible, so your finance team is not left building migration templates.

How it works

Our preferred Exchequer extraction method uses Visual Report Writer. It allows us to obtain the detailed reports and transaction information needed to reconstruct and reconcile the historical accounting data in Xero.

Preferred, not mandatory. If Visual Report Writer is not available in your environment, that does not automatically prevent the migration. We can review alternative reports or extraction routes.

★★★★★

Seamless data transition from Exchequer to Xero. As much help that was required was given.

Florentina knows the system and has given us many tips both during the training session & after.

We are up and running with Xero and are happy with the progress.

★★★★★

Florentina did an outstanding job managing our data migration from Exchequer to Xero. She is highly skilled, knowledgeable, and clearly well-equipped in what she does. Throughout the process, she was approachable, supportive, and always ready to help with any questions we had. Everything was completed on time, and her professionalism and attention to detail made the entire migration smooth and stress-free.

We also loved the professional cheeky banter with Flo. She’s not only great at her job but also a genuinely nice person to work with. I would highly recommend Flo to anyone looking for a reliable and expert professional for data migration. She’s truly a pleasure to work with.

Highly recommended - excellent support

Florentina supported our recent transition to Xero and we were very happy with the level of advice and support provided throughout. The process was well-planned and documented and Florentina was always happy to go above and beyond to help with any queries or support needed as we got to grips with Xero.

This included supporting us through our first VAT return submission to ensure it went smoothly.

I would highly recommend MigrateMyAccounts to others moving to new accounting software.
