For clean, straightforward Sage 50 data, an automated conversion can be a sensible and cost-effective route. Xero currently works with Movemybooks for supported Sage conversions, including a standard conversion offer for up to 24 months of data in the UK.

Worth considering when the source data is clean, the future Xero structure is broadly similar and the project fits the conversion tool's supported scope.

Automated conversion
When Movemybooks can be a good fit
Movemybooks is Xero's conversion partner for supported Sage migrations and can move core accounting data into Xero through a guided self-service process. For a relatively simple Sage 50 company, that can avoid paying for bespoke migration work that is not needed.
Its own current guidance also explains that a conversion cannot reproduce every feature of a different accounting system exactly. Foreign-currency data, for example, is converted to home-currency values under its Xero service.
We would rather recommend the simpler route when it genuinely fits than turn every Sage 50 move into a bespoke project.

When the migration needs more than conversion.
A bespoke migration lets us design the destination around the required accounting outcome rather than simply accepting the standard conversion structure. We can review the source, agree mappings, transform the historical data and reconcile the resulting Xero organisation back to the agreed Sage reports.
